A Wish, A Dream, A Reality

When I was a little girl my Dad would tell me stories.  He loved to create elaborate tales of adventures and act out all the characters.  He had an amazing talent and would spend hours talking into a tape recorder.  My mom and dad worked together on many writing projects but nothing ever came of them.  They were never quite done, or they didn't get accepted or life just got to busy.  My dad's dream was to become a published author.  He always dreamed of being "somebody".  One of the problems he faced was being sick.  He was ill most of my life and spent a great deal of time in bed.  So telling stories was one of those things he could do that didn't wear him out and could help him escape to world of no pain or illness.  He wrote a beautiful children's story that I have carried around for years.  He passed away 5 years ago and I have decided it is time to make his dream a reality.  I have been working on a few projects myself and my skill as a painter has gotten a lot better so now I feel like I'm capable of illustrating the story as it should be done.  I know he is watching over my shoulder and whispering in my ear,  You can do it!
